The Wokingham Paper - - ROUND-UP -

WOKINGHAM and Emmbrook Bearwood Club riders took home the rosettes at the British Riding Clubs National Championships.

Taking place in Lincoln, Sarah Gee enjoyed individual success, finishing third in the senior dressage.

The team event saw Sarah Thomas (riding Davidoff), Laura Wright (Zazoo), Steph Reid (Whitehill Boy) and Amy Dale (O’Reilly) place ninth overall while Dale was the overall senior champion.

The senior showjumping proved a trickier challenge, failing to place with the team of Thomas, Rebecca Lloyd, Gee and Dale.

But in the Team of Four dressage, Wokingham secured a respectable sixth-place finish out of 18 with the quartet of Thomas, Dale, Gee and Wright.

In the National Horse Trials at Swalcliffe Park, Ele Sparkes (Kazan) and Tessa Ward (Essanelle Cruz) placed 10th and 11th respectively in the juniors 100cm event.

In the seniors 80cm level, Gee won her arena with a dressage score of 25.3, but the team of herself, Sara Bennett, Caroline

Sykes and Naomi Mulligan could not place.

But Lauren Huddy, riding Charlie, sealed 10th spot in the 90cm long format eventing.
