Maximilian Kalyuzhnov, who attends St Joseph’s College, is one of 12 who could win the STABILO Young Journalist of the Year contest. His entry was about his unlikely but inspiring friendship with Rudy, the 104-year-old ex-professor.

The budding young journalist said: “When I received the letter from STABILO, I was humbled and overwhelmed with joy, I couldn’t believe it. It is both an honour and a blessing being selected as a finalist and I am forever grateful to STABILO and First News for creating this writing competition.”
