John Lill to re­turn for Con­cert Hall show

A FA­MIL­IAR face will make his re­turn to Read­ing’s Con­cert Hall for a solo piano per­for­mance next week.

John Lill, who will be well-known to Clas­si­cal Mu­sic Alive au­di­ences, is de­scribed as one of the lead­ing pi­anists of his gen­er­a­tion, with an im­pres­sive ca­reer span­ning 55 years, dur­ing which he has given more than 4,000 per­for­mances.

John’s ex­ten­sive reper­toire in­cludes more than 80 con­cer­tos, and he is widely ac­claimed in par­tic­u­lar as a lead­ing in­ter­preter of Beethoven, who he has per­formed in the UK, USA and Ja­pan.

This per­for­mance will in­clude Sonata in C mi­nor Op.13, Sonata in C Op.53 'Wald­stein', Sonata in C# mi­nor Op.27 No.2 'Moon­light', Sonata in F mi­nor Op.57 'Ap­pas­sion­ata', as well as a pre-con­cert talk at Read­ing Town Hall by the man him­self.
