Santa rumbles in the Jungle

The Wokingham Paper - - CHRISTMAS NEWS -

FAMILIES who have been supported by a local charity this year came together for a day of festive fun in Woodley last week.

Around 55 young children and their parents joined staff from Home Start Wokingham District at Jungle Mania, in Headley Road, to celebrate the last 12 months with a morning of fun and a visit from Father Christmas.

Home Start helps families who are going through difficulties, be it through disability or illness, loss of income or mental health issues, by offering friendly, non-judgmental support through volunteers visiting the family’s home.

Scheme manager Louise Jones said: “The Christmas party is a great way for the families to meet each other, and to interact with the volunteers in a different environment.

“It’s also our way of saying thank you to all the families and volunteers who have supported Home Start in the last year, and we look forward to working with them again in 2018!”
