Ray of light helps South Berks to a draw

DANIEL RAY bagged his eighth goal of the sea­son as South Berk­shire earned a 1-1 draw at West Hamp­stead 2s.

Just four points sep­a­rate the two sides in MBBO Re­gional 2 and the pair could not be split on the day with An­drew Wilkie net­ting for the hosts.

Ray is now third top scorer in the di­vi­sion, one be­hind Son­ning’s James Manser and two off Read­ing 3s’ hot-shot Rob Far­row.

SON­NING saw their game with Mar­low 2s post­poned.

South Berk­shire end 2017 sev­enth in the ta­ble while Son­ning sit fifth.

SON­NING 6s did beat the weather in Di­vi­sion 9, but were thumped 4-1 by Bices­ter De­vel­op­ment.

It was also a re­duced fix­ture list on the women’s side as SON­NING LADIES’ game with East­cote Ladies called off due to a frozen pitch.

Son­ning fin­ish the cal­en­dar year in eighth place while in the league be­low, South Berk­shire sit fourth go­ing into the Christ­mas break.
