Gig House to be­come a Bears restau­rant

A WOK­ING­HAM pub that closed on Sun­day will re­open in July as a Bears restau­rant, with break­fasts, craft beers and live mu­sic all on the menu.

Wether­spoon is call­ing time on its ten­ancy of The Gig House in The Plaza, Erft­stadt Court, but the new com­pany is poised to give the venue a makeover be­fore turn­ing on the taps early next month.

Bears al­ready has a branch at The Pack­house, just out­side Farn­ham but owner Ru­pert Butcher is promis­ing to blend the best of The Gig with his suc­cess­ful restau­rant.

Bears will of­fer a range of freshly­cooked dishes and pub clas­sics in­clud­ing Fish & Chips, Steak, Burg­ers and Pork Belly along with some Shar­ing Plat­ters.

Mr Butcher is promis­ing that the premises will con­tinue to be a spa­cious and lively drink­ing spot through­out the day­time and evening.

And the menu will in­clude early morn­ing break­fasts, with Full Englishes nestling along­side mod­ern op­tions in­clud­ing a Smashed Av­o­cado Bagel.

Ad­di­tion­ally, The Gig House will look to wel­come live mu­sic acts on Fri­days, while serv­ing craft beers and as well as fa­mil­iar faces.

In a state­ment, Mr Butcher said: “I am ex­tremely ex­cited to be bring­ing my ex­pe­ri­ence and restau­rant back­ground to Wok­ing­ham.

“It’s a great town and I look for­ward to rein­vig­o­rat­ing The Gig House to make it the must­visit spot to meet with friends, catch up over lunch, or en­joy a fun night out.”
