Merger talks for housing associations
TWO major housing associations are holding merger talks.
The move will see Catalyst Housing and Aldwyck Housing Group create a new group managing 30,000 homes across London and the Home Counties, including some within Wokingham borough.
Ian McDermott, currently Aldwyck Group Chief Executive, was announced as the new Catalyst Chief Executive in July and takes up his role in January 2019.
Speaking about the merger plans Richard Brown, Chair of Catalyst Housing, said: “At Catalyst we are very excited about the potential of the proposed union with Aldwyck.
“It will increase the supply of muchneeded homes in London and the Home Counties with our combined intention of building at least 1,300 homes each year.”
Pat Billingham, Aldwyck Group Chair, added: “We believe that the proposed merger with Catalyst will enable us to accelerate the delivery of more much needed new homes in the communities we serve.
“Our organisations share common aims, values and cultures and by joining forces we can create an enhanced offer for our customers as well as increased career development opportunities for colleagues.”
