Temp staff contracts

The Wokingham Paper - - NEWS -

ALMOST a third of staff within children’s services are on temporary contracts.

Cllr Pauline Helliar-Symons, the lead member for children’s services, told resident Petra Angel that at the end of the first quarter of the 2018/19 financial year, 29% of qualified social workers working for the council were agency staff.

Ms Angel alleged in her question: “Unfortunately some serious mistakes have been made, which has resulted in children being put at risk.”

THE NEW director of children’s services will be Carol Cammiss. Cllr Pauline Helliar-Symons said she had been appointed for her strong management experience and background as a social worker. The appointment was passed by a unanimous vote.
