Carol is new chil­dren’s ser­vices boss

TO­DAY is the first day on the job for Wok­ing­ham Bor­ough Coun­cil’s new direc­tor of chil­dren’s ser­vices.

Carol Cam­miss was as­sis­tant direc­tor for qual­ity as­sur­ance, safe­guard­ing stan­dards and pol­icy and per­for­mance.

The coun­cil said that she brings a wealth of ex­pe­ri­ence in­clud­ing roles at Sur­rey County Coun­cil and the Lon­don Bor­ough of Mer­ton. At the lat­ter, she was re­spon­si­ble for the de­sign and im­ple­men­ta­tion of strate­gic plans, im­prov­ing lead­er­ship and manag­ing Of­sted in­spec­tions.

Speak­ing on her ap­point­ment, Carol said: “I’m de­lighted and look for­ward to em­brac­ing new op­por­tu­ni­ties as direc­tor of chil­dren’s ser­vices in Wok­ing­ham Bor­ough.”

Coun­cil leader, Cllr Char­lotte Haitham Tay­lor said: “The direc­tor of chil­dren’s ser­vices pro­vides valu­able lead­er­ship in de­liv­er­ing our pri­or­i­ties which en­sure part­ners work to­gether to safe­guard our chil­dren and de­liver high qual­ity ed­u­ca­tion for all.

“I wish her ev­ery suc­cess in her new role.”
