Chorus to sing of remembrance
READING FESTIVAL CHORUS will be performing at Greyfriars Church in Reading’s town centre on Saturday, November 18.
Starting at 7.30pm, the evening of music will mark the centenary of the Armistice.
The programme includes Duruflé's
Requiem and Four Motets, and a new work by Welsh composer Gareth Tresede: In
Flanders Fields – A War Cantata, a moving setting to music of a number of poems relating to the war.
The choir will be conducted by Greg Hallam, accompanied by Simon Dinsdale and feature performances from mezzo-soprano Anna Prowse and bass David Le Prevost.
Tickets cost £15, and under 18s get in free.
