Wood­ley beaten again

ROSIE PAGE-SMITH scored her sev­enth goal of the sea­son but could not pre­vent back-to-back de­feats for Wood­ley United Ladies.

The first half at Ox­ford City was a cagey af­fair with the hosts edg­ing in front just be­fore the break in the South­ern Women’s Premier Di­vi­sion clash.

Wood­ley be­gan the sec­ond half well but had goal­keeper Ni­cole Haines to thank for re­main­ing in the con­test.

But she could not pre­vent Ox­ford mov­ing 2-0 up and that be­came three just past the hour mark.

Page-Smith net­ted a con­so­la­tion goal for United, but it came in vain as they lost out 3-1.

Down in the First Di­vi­sion, Caro­line Pater­son scored a hat-trick to help WOKINGHAM AND EMM­BROOK LADIES to a 5-2 win over Al­ton at Lowther Road.

Caro­line Shep­hard and Alice Lilley also scored for the Su­mas as they moved onto six points, just one fewer than the en­tirety of last sea­son.

In the same league, WARGRAVE’S game at Eastleigh was post­poned.

Over in the Thames Val­ley Coun­ties Di­vi­sion, EVER­S­LEY AND CAL­I­FOR­NIA were knocked out of the League Cup, go­ing down 1-0 at Abing­don Town Women and BIN­FIELD lost 4-0 at Holy­port in Di­vi­sion Two East.
