Wolves give Kings a fright

PROMOTION-CHASING Worcester Wolves continued their charge with a big win over Thames Valley Kings in Division Three.

The game was as good as won by the end of the first quarter with the hosts leading 20-0.

Denise Drammis and Peter Rapley finally got Kings on the scoreboard, but they trailed 34-8 at half-time.

Captain Nick Gorst and Mo Daller found the net as the game wore on as Kings rallied, only for Wolves to ease to a 64-20 win.

“A tough result to take but we knew it wasn’t going to be an easy game,” said Wayne Burton.

“A very tough Wolves team were hard to break down, very quick on the break and hitting some very impressive outside shots.

“As a team, we need to learn from all this, try and step up another level and work better with the forwards and guards.

“Altogether a better performance than the first game so if we can keep improving game by game and learn the basics in training we can only get better.”
