Ar­mistice con­cert

TAMESIS Cham­ber Choir will mark the 100th an­niver­sary of the Ar­mistice with a spe­cial con­cert on Sun­day.

Start­ing at 4pm and tak­ing place at Queen Anne’s School in Caver­sham, the pro­gramme fea­tures mu­sic and read­ings based on the theme of re­mem­brance.

The pieces are: Eleanor Da­ley’s Re­quiem, How­ells’ Take him earth for cher­ish­ing, Lang’s The Kon­takion, Guest’s For the fallen, Vaughan Wil­liams’ Valiant for Truth, Todd’s For Peace, Parry’s Cross­ing the bar, Whi­tacre’s Nox au­rumque, Tavener’s Ex­hor­ta­tion and Ko­hima and Mealor’s Peace.

The choir are con­ducted by Louise Rap­ple and will be ac­com­pa­nied by Ju­dith Creighton on the piano.

Tick­ets cost £12, £10 for con­ces­sions and can be or­dered by log­ging on to THE SHINFIELD Play­ers will be pre­sent­ing a highly orig­i­nal take on Mac­beth next week.

Farn­dale Av­enue Townswomen’s Guild

Dra­matic So­ci­ety for a play within a play as they tackle Mac­beth.

It’s very much a play that goes wrong: a series of hi­lar­i­ous mis­takes makes this a de­light­ful face from be­gin­ning to end.

The show is per­formed at its Whit­ley

Wood Lane theatre from Wed­nes­day, Novem­ber 14 through to Satur­day, Novem­ber 17.

Cur­tain up is at 7.45pm and tick­ets cost £12, £11 for con­ces­sions and £6 for chil­dren.
