We’re pleased to see that Bet­tys of Har­ro­gate have re­vived the guinea for its Christ­mas of­fer­ing – in choco­late. Al­though the coin fell out of cir­cu­la­tion in 1813, prices were re­ferred to in guineas right up to dec­i­mal­i­sa­tion in 1971. We think the Swiss milk choco­late guinea the ideal stock­ing filler for the tra­di­tion­al­ist who’s dif­fi­cult to buy for.
