Getting around

Timeless Travels Magazine - - UNITED STATES OF AMERICA -

During the summer season (23 May - 23 September) free shuttle buses operate between the canyon and the town and throughout the south rim of Grand Canyon. The red line buses take one out on Hermit Road stopping along the way at many points where riders may get off and view the canyon. The buses stop every 15 minutes from just before sunrise until just before sunset. The blue line buses take visitors from the visitor centre to the campground, the general store (with a post office and restaurant nearby) and the various lodges such as Maswik. One does not need a ticket and there is no fee to ride these shuttles. There is also an orange line which brings guests from the visitor’s centre to the canyon. The shuttle buses are much easier to use than a car and Hermit’s Road is actually closed to all traffic except the shuttle buses.
