Cur­rency: The cur­rency in Amer­ica is the dol­lar (USD, sym­bol $) = 100 cents. Notes are in de­nom­i­na­tions of $100, 50, 20, 10 and 5. Coins are in de­nom­i­na­tions of 1 cent, 5 cents (nickel), 10 cents (dime) and 25 cents (a quar­ter).

There are only a cou­ple of ATMs within Grand Canyon Na­tional Park it­self: two at the South Rim (at Chase Bank, in Mar­ket Plaza next to the Canyon Vil­lage Mar­ket­place, and at Maswik Lodge), and two at the North Rim (at the Gen­eral Store and in the Roughrider Sa­loon at Grand Canyon Lodge). It is there­fore ad­vised to make sure you have suf­fi­cient cash on you be­fore ar­riv­ing at the park.
