18 new sites for UNESCO World Heritage list
Eighteen new cultural sites have been added to the UNESCO World Heritage listings in June 2017. They are: 1.The archaeological site and marble quarries of Aphrodisias in South West Turkey. 2. Asmara, Eritrea. 3. Assumption Cathedral and Monastery of the town-island of Sviyazhsk, Russian Federation. 4. The caves and Ice Age art in Swabian Jura, Germany. 5. Hebron/ Al-Khalil Old Town, Palestine. 6. Historic city of Ahmadabad, India. 7. Historic city of Yazd, Iran. 8. Kujataa Greenland: Norse and Inuit Farming at the Edge of Ice Cap, Denmark. 9. Kulangsu, tiny island on estuary of Chiu- lung river, facing the city of Xiamen. 10. Mbanza Kongo, vestige of the capital of former kingdom of Kingo, Angola. 11. Sacred Island of Okinoshima and associated sites in Munakata region, Japan. 12. Taputapuatea, France. 13. Tarnowskie Góry Lead-Silver-Zinc Mine and its Underground Water Management System, Poland. 14. Temple Zone of Sambor Prei Kuk, Archaeological Site of Ancient Ishanapura, Cambodia. 15.
