This is an­other large com­plex, which in­cludes a num­ber of civic of­fices in­clud­ing tax and rev­enue, ‘Depart­ment of Su­per­vi­sion’, ‘Money and Grain Of­fi­cial’s Of­fice’, Of­fice of Sec­ond ViceGover­nor and ‘Rites and Ed­u­ca­tion Of­fice’. There is a prison area (com­plete with cells, prison god’s tem­ple, tor­ture in­stru­ments for in­ter­ro­ga­tion, cus­tody, crim­i­nal es­cort and ex­e­cu­tion ar­eas), mag­is­trates courts, build­ings with lovely names such as ‘Heav­enSent Rain Pav­il­ion’, ‘Flower Pav­il­ion’ and ‘The Tower of Fox Im­mor­tal’, as well as a fish pond, gar­den area with beau­ti­ful blos­som trees and fur­ther tem­ples and tow­ers. The prison is said to be the only ex­ist­ing Qing Dy­nasty prison that was in op­er­a­tion un­til the 1960s.
