Artes Mundi announces shortlist
Artes Mundi has announced its shortlist for the eighth edition of the UK’s leading biennial art prize, Artes Mundi 8. The biennial Cardiff-based prize, worth £40,000, will be awarded in January 2019 following a four-month exhibition. The shortlist was selected from more than 450 nominations spanning 86 countries and includes five of the world’s most celebrated contemporary artists, whose works explore what it means to be human. The short listed candidates will take part in a major exhibition running from 27 October 2018 to 24 February 2019 at National Museum Cardiff.
