It has a refined 460cc head shape, with adjustable low and forward weighting to lower spin, along with a reactive face.

WE SAY: Another driver that spilt our testers, which shows how much personal opinion comes into our buying decisions. The FG Tour’s got a deep face and the sound is very muted and solid (probably because it’s been designed for pros) which provoked discussion, as so many golfers equate high-pitched impact sounds with power. Our test pro really warmed to it, comfortably dispatching shots 12 yards further than his test average and with a 3mph quicker ball speed. With our two amateur testers not quite seeing such impressive results, we reckon the Tour, with its forward weighting, is more suited to high-spin players.

VERDICT: The Tour’s good performance and excellent components, particularly for high-spin players, make it a really solid proposition.
