Golf’s young guns are raking in the cash
While many 20-somethings are struggling to make ends meet, there are a dozen athletes aged 25 or younger who banked monster paychecks totalling at least $23 million for the 12 months ending June 2018. Leading the way was Jordan Spieth who, despite winning only once, pocketed $41.2 million to rank him No.23 among the world’s best-paid young athletes. Nearly 75 per cent of that came from 10 endorsement deals, including Under Armour, AT&T, Coca-cola, Titleist and Rolex. Justin Thomas “only” made $26m, with most of that coming on the course.
