MORE MIXED-GENDER EVENTS

Today's Golfer (UK) - - FIRST TEE - BRADLEY FLORY

As I sit here watching the final round of the Women’s British Open in awe at the

exhibition of golf being displayed by Georgia Hall and Pornanong Phatlum, I am amazed that the women’s game is not lauded for being equally as strong and good as the men’s game. I cannot help thinking that there needs to a WGC style-event and/or a multi-gender Ryder Cup added to the calendar that brings together the top players from the men’s and the ladies’ game. Golf is a unique sport in the sense that men and women can go head to head on a fairly level playing field. Tennis is the only sport that has a big following for mixed events, so maybe it’s time golf followed suit.
