Dur­ing the swing it­self, sim­ply try to re­peat the po­si­tion you’ve just staged. Avoid weight shift and lat­eral move­ment, fo­cus­ing in­stead on ap­ply­ing pres­sure down through the ball. Look for an im­pact where the han­dle leads the head through the ball, the an­gle in the back of the trail wrist re­tained. Re­mem­ber that goal of tak­ing the tee peg as well as the ball and you’ll be able to find the cor­rect, com­press­ing im­pact.
