In ref­er­ence to your re­cent 996 v 997 Turbo cover ar­ti­cle, in my opin­ion the 996 gen­er­a­tion is the last of the ana­logue cars. It’s more raw, less re­fined and has less elec­tron­ics in­ter­fer­ing, giv­ing more driver en­gage­ment and in­put as a re­sult. Each gen­er­a­tion gets faster and more re­fined, but that doesn’t make them bet­ter – just dif­fer­ent. There’s no right or wrong an­swer here though: you pay your money, you make your choice. I went for the 996.
