Any­one con­sid­er­ing an im­mac­u­late 996 GT3 rs should per­haps take a pause, as the same money will se­cure some very dif­fer­ent, yet equally spe­cial, 911 ex­pe­ri­ences

993 Turbo S

The last of the air-cooled 911. 450bhp and 585nm of torque pro­vided an epic shove in the back, while the looks were bol­stered by the Aerokit II with prom­i­nent front and rear spoil­ers and air in­takes ahead of the rear wheels.

911S 2.4

The me­chan­i­cally in­jected 2.4-litre engine brought use­ful in­creases in power and torque com­pared to the 2.2, en­cour­ag­ing own­ers to make the most of the ag­ile han­dling. The ex­ter­nal oil filler cap was con­fus­ing, though.

997.2 GT3 RS

While this gen­er­a­tion now fea­tured PASM and dy­namic engine mounts, it was no less fo­cused. Thanks to the 3.8 450hp mo­tor it was fe­ro­ciously quick, and with wider front wings and cen­tre­lock wheels it looked the part.

993 RS

The 300bhp 3.8 saw the first use of the Var­i­o­ram in­take sys­tem, and both throt­tle and han­dling re­sponses were scalpel sharp. of the 1,104 made, 227 were in hard­core club­sport trim, and just 38 made it to the UK in rhd form.
