Total MX-5 - - NEWS -

There’s nothing worse than starting an essential piece of car maintenance and then discovering you’ve not bought all the parts to finish the job. These days the specialist parts companies are very good at putting together complete packages of bits to overcome this potential annoyance, as is the case with David Manners’ cambelt kits for the mk1 and mk2 MX-5.

The kits comprise the full works, including cambelt, water pump, gaskets and pulleys. The kit for the mk1 is for the 1.6-litre engine only (camkit1 on the company’s website, jags, while the mk2 kit (camkit2) covers both the 1.6 and 1.8. Priced at £57.60 for the mk1 and £50.40 for the mk2, the kits offer every encouragement for you to try undertaking the belt change yourself – and if you are going to give it a go, remember that we ran a ‘How To’ feature on this very subject in issue 3 of Total MX-5.
