Trail Running (UK) - - Warm- Up -

Bob Graham winter-record holder and Dragon’s Back Race 2015 winner, Jim set a new Charlie Ramsay Round winter record (22:23) on 22 January, then on 12 February smashed out a winter Paddy Buckley record (21:37)! Why a winter Ramsay? It was a Thursday and I wasw looking for something to do at the weekendweek – also my 40th. I wasw considering a PaddyP Buckley, then KonradK Rawlik and Jasmin Paris said “Come tot Scotland” and things were soon out of control. And the conditions?conditions Technical and wintry, wintry so difficult. There werew also places where wew were moving really fast.fas You described it as your best-ever birthdaybirthda party... I can’t think of a better way to see out my thirties. These rounds are very much a team effort. We do this for the love of the mountains, the companionship and the fun. This sport is about doing, living and being in the moment, rather than stats. And then a winter Paddy? It was really tough. The weather window never really opened, so we had snow and increasing wind the whole round. It was pretty intense on legs 4 and 5, but I had an amazing crew with me. Why winter rounds? You never know w what you’re going to o get, which makes it so much more interesting. ting. Snow and ice e can be very different even en on the same hill. You need a wide range ange of skills, more gear, , a bigger time buffer. You are constantly tantly reassessing sing options and adjusting.ting.
