I’M RUNNING A MARATHON ON THE COAST. WHAT SHOULD MY LONGEST TRAINING RUN BE?
We – and Jenn Gaskell – are jealous of your run with a view! “If you have time, I would try to get an 18-22 mile run in a few weeks before the race,” she says. “Reduce distance after that to make sure you’re fully recovered. Never increase your weekly training distance by more than 10% though, and take an easier week every four or so. Practising on similar terrain will also give you an advantage – good luck!”
