Obstacle Race Course (OCR) events have transcended their jolly, amateur upbringing, rising from the bog in the form of professional events like World’s Toughest Mudder and the OCR World Championships. Those fun-run-type OCR events still exist, of course, but more and more budding competitors are aspiring to prove themselves on a more competitive stage. To make it, though, they’ll need to train – and hard.
With a plethora of obstacles challenging competitor’s strength, speed and stamina, OCRs demand more varied training than a regular trail-running event. To help you tackle everything thrown at you, we’ve put together a comprehensive eight-week plan covering all possible angles, taking you from muddy runner to obstacle beast in just eight weeks.
