Men sweat more than women – right? Well, new re­search from the Univer­sity of Wol­lon­gong and the Mie Pre­fec­tural Col­lege of Nurs­ing has turned this long-held sup­po­si­tion on its head. Ac­cord­ing to their re­cent stud­ies, it is ac­tu­ally size – and not gen­der as pre­vi­ously thought – that is re­spon­si­ble for how much you sweat. Rather than sweat­ing, smaller men and women with more sur­face area per kilo of body weight are more de­pen­dent on cir­cu­la­tion for heat loss.
