Think of this as an ex­tremely low-bud­get ver­sion of Race the Train, the 14-mile trail race in ru­ral Wales. Once you’ve filled the kettle, drop to the ground and per­form as many press-ups as pos­si­ble in the time it takes for it to boil. Un­less you’ve got a par­tic­u­larly er­ratic kettle, that time won’t change by much, so will give you a good marker to im­prove.
