“Weight training is like anything, A Darren,” says strength coach Jonny Jacobs. “You just have to make time. Could you swap one of your running sessions for a weights session? Also, one of the common misconceptions of strength training is that sessions need to last for hours. Be constructive with your time and what it is that you want to achieve. For example, perform squats over leg extensions and deadlifts instead of hamstring curls – opt for multi-joint movements that complement running.” You’ll soon see an increase in your power, and a lower risk of injury.
