“Food timing and the correct food selection is key,” says A Georgia. “Try to eat a meal around two to three hours before a training session and within an hour of finishing. This will ensure the food eaten is used to fuel your session, and afterwards to help maximise recovery and replenish stores before the next bout of exercise. If you struggle to eat post-exercise, try making a shake to ensure you refuel adequately.” Perhaps the best advice is to not base your diet on anyone else’s. “It is vital to note that there is no one-size-fits-all answer,” says Georgia. “Track your progress to find out what works and does not work for you.”
