New stuff to treat yourself with

When US manufacturer Jaybird brought out a set of completely wireless headphones, endorsed by Western States record holder Timothy Olson, we certainly sat up and listened. Comprised of two separate ear plugs, the feature-packed model boasts play, pause, skip and Ask Siri functions. You can also take calls at the push of one button.

As the buds are separate you can not only run safely near traffic, but can also share your favourite playlist with a running partner as each bud has around 30m range. They come in a pocket-sized rechargeable case so when you run out just close the lid and they will be ready for your next session. When the case runs out of charge plug it into a USB port. Charging times are super quick and five minutes will give one hour of playback.

Jaybird has an app so you can adjust the sound setting to your preference from your phone. We tried out the memory foam inner attachments, which are worth the extra investment for comfort and unique moulding.

ON THE MOVE Download the app for a range of guides and playlists to help you hit all your workout goals. There’s everything from music to fitness advice. FIT FOR ALL Fit isn’t an issue as the buds come with a range of differently sized and shaped addons to suit every ear. That means they sit happily in your ear even on sweaty days. CHARGE IT UP Simply close the lid to recharge your headphones. Forget having to find something as old fashioned as a plug point. Tech

wins every time!
