New re­search from Den­mark has sug­gested that ac­tiv­i­ties such as foot­ball and rugby help to en­sure that chil­dren de­velop stronger bones, bet­ter mus­cu­lar strength and im­proved bal­ance – all skills that will make them expert trail run­ners in later life.
