‘ I DID IT!’
The Everest Marathon is a journey, not just a marathon, and I loved every minute. To reach the start line you need to trek for 12-14 days to Everest Base Camp, passing through small mountain villages surrounded by some of the largest peaks in the world. When the start gun fires even walking can leave you breathless, so you just move as fast as you can, running when it feels good and walking when it doesn’t. The route is technically downhill but don’t let this fool you – there’s quite a lot of height gain too!
