Chris Sim described his West Highland Way Double as: “A mixed bag of torture, joy, laughs and tears.

“I wanted to see how far I could push myself mentally and physically, and thought it would be a good fundraiser. I wanted to show that physical activity and the outdoors are essential for our mental health. Then in a moment of genius, I added Ben Nevis, bringing the journey to an even 200 miles!

“The last 12 miles lasted a lifetime. My knee had given up and blisters on my feet were bursting. So many incredible friends and family supported me along the way – they were at the end to greet me. If I wasn’t so exhausted, I would have looked full of elation.”

Chris finished just in time, with his second child being born later that same day. He’s fundraising for mental
