RUNNING READS

Trail Running (UK) - - Kit Bag -

RUNNER, LIZZY HAWKER, £9.99

To read that Lizzy is nervous before tackling the UTMB or Everest is strangely comforting given her reputation as an ultrarunning legend. She’s very much a real person, with the same self-doubt and fears that accompany any big challenge. Lizzie takes us on a real tour of discovery up and over high peaks and, more importantly, leaves us with the thought that maybe, just maybe, anything is possible if you put your mind to it.

OVER THE HILL AT 60 SOMETHING, BARRY HOLMES, £14.90

Now this is an interesting book, with what we can only describe as some amazing illustrations. Barry has done this as a retirement project and clearly has produced a superb coffee table book. If you want a feel for the Lakes and need a bit of route inspiration, then this is a nice addition to your library. Who knows, it might even get you thinking about similar projects you could do yourself.
