Many of us have a foam roller, some of us even dust it off oc­ca­sion­ally and put our­selves through the pain of self-mas­sage. Sci­en­tists re­cently tested 16 healthy males, do­ing ei­ther 15 min­utes of foam rolling or rest on three con­sec­u­tive days. They found that foam rolling led to re­duced fa­tigue af­ter three days, and that rolling may al­ter mus­cle me­chan­i­cal prop­er­ties and en­hance mus­cu­lar ef­fi­ciency. Re­sult!
