In my opinion, one of the best ways up Skiddaw. The final scree crossing to the summit can be intimidating for some. You do need a good head for heights on that bit. Barry Edwards

Done it in winter with crampons and in summer with the dog. Best way up Skiddaw and a good chance of seeing ospreys if you come through the forest on the way down. Dan Hawkes
