“Thule? The roof rack people?” That was my response when this pack arrived back in 2015. And they do indeed make exceedingly good roof racks, but their packs aren’t bad either. A suspended back system, numerous zip pockets, a light but tough construction – this pack has all I want in a cavernous backpacking sack. You see, 50L is great for lightweight multi-nighters. Yes, I know you can use smaller bags, but my experience with those is that you have to ensure you carefully pack everything in precisely the correct arrangement and order to make sure all your essential gear fits in the available space. But 50L means you can simply and easily stuff and go. And yes, other 50L packs are available – including a new range of Capstone’s – but I like this one, thank you very much. It just works.

The Swedish luggage people have come good again with the Capstone.
