HIGHLIGHTS errr, Roseberry Topping! “From my front door to the summit of Roseberry Topping (the Matterhorn of Cleveland) requires just over 220m of ascent, so my aim is to climb it 40 times to ‘top out’ on Everest. It just feels great to get up and get out early on a morning and have the whole place to myself – except on the 1 March, when I was accompanied by The Beast from the East in its full glory! -5°C on the summit, 46mph winds, wind chill -26°C, spindrift blizzards, full whiteouts, thigh- deep snow drifts, avalanche category II on the west side – man, that was the hardest early morning trot up Roseberry Topping I’ve done this year! 24 done. Just 16 to go.”
