Get a friend outdoors!
Do you know a friend who could benefit from some quality time spent outdoors but who always has an excuse to wriggle out of it? Well, make sure Sunday 30 September is inked into their diary and get them signed up for Ordnance Survey’s first National GetOutside Day!
The initiative by OS aims to get one million people from across the UK venturing outdoors on the last Sunday of the month, by getting involved with a range of fun activities.
Firstly, you can sign up to one of six national guided walks, in partnership with HF Holidays. Led by celebrities including Ben Fogle, Kenton Cool, Mel Nicholls and Sean Conway, three of these are in the Peak District, with three more routes in Shropshire.
Wherever you’re based in the UK, you can also join one of the many regional walks led by OS ambassadors and volunteers or, failing that, come up with your own outdoor adventure activity. For more information and a load of outdoor activity inspiration and recommended self-guided walking routes, visit www. getoutside.co.uk – or turn to page 99. So, grab a mate, your kids or a colleague, sign them up to #GetOutsideDay and help inspire them to get outdoors, being more active, more often.
Kenton Cool’s waiting to join you on a walk – what are you waiting for?!
