Join us on our journey through the British mountains for your most awesome year yet!

Clear your calendar, because this month-by-month guide to 2021 – inspired by the peaks on our Trail 100 bucket list – will help you plan your greatest ever mountain year.

Shall we all just agree to forget about 2020? Too many plans gone to waste, too many walking boots left unmuddied, too many mountains unclimbed. It’s hard to predict or plan anything at the moment, but that’s not going to stop us cramming your heads with as many ideas as possible for adventurous mountain trips in 2021.

The Trail 100 is our hand-picked bucket list of the UK peaks we believe every hillwalker has to climb in their lifetime. Unlike the Wainwrights it isn’t limited to just one region, and unlike the Munros or Corbetts the mountains aren’t chosen by height. This is a list collated by Trail’s 30 years of experience walking and climbing in the UK’s greatest ranges, and includes peaks of all shapes and sizes, for all ages and abilities.

You can see the full Trail 100 list on page 45, but over the next 26 pages we’re going to guide you month by month through 2021, picking out the best Trail 100 mountains for you to explore during each season.

If you follow this as a basic guide for 2021, not only will this quite possibly be the most adventurous year of your life, but you’ll also have worked through over 15 of the mountains on your new lifetime bucket list. See, maybe things are looking up after all...
