Nose: Red berry sweetness followed by fudgy notes. Then hay bales and peonies, before bookshop shelves and an almost savoury edge.

Palate: Soaked prunes and rich dark chocolate, then raisins and black cherry compote. Rich fruit cake with marzipan.

Finish: Those dried fruits abound, giving way to bitter dark chocolate.

Comments: This is like eating Christmas cake in a second-hand book shop. Rich, elegant and really gorgeous. 8.9

Sam

Nose: A floral bouquet that reminds you of walking through an orange grove. Lavender and Danish pastries.

Good intensity.

Palate: The citrus notes from the nose come through intensely on the palate, amongst a Christmas cake flavour. Stewed stone fruits. Cinnamon and pepper brings a little spice, but otherwise its rich and flavoursome.

Finish: Lingering with the spicier notes coming from the palate.

Comments: Balance between spice and fruit. A drying sweetness. One for cold nights by the fire.
