Nose: Fresh and fruity with notes of rose and succulent watermelon followed by some zesty lime peel.

Palate: A balanced sweetness to start with a little cassia spice that’s well-balanced by the freshness of the watermelon and joined by a touch of nuttiness and a zing of citrus.

Finish: A little residual sweetness lingers, along with the spiciness of ginger and cinnamon and a touch of home-made lime cordial.

Comments: A good example of a flavoured gin that allows the underlying gin character to come through.

Sam

Nose: Citrus forward on the nose. Smells relatively tart. Juniper and elderflower provide a few lighter notes.

Palate: The sweetness is refined, which is great as the lime note is bright and really expressive. Juniper plays second fiddle, but is present enough that it balances the otherwise sweet notes with something earthier. Notes of vanilla and watermelon.

Finish: Lingering citrus – rolls on while the sweetness gradually fades away.

Comments: Lovely balance, very citrus forward but a tasty treat.
