Spain Reign — 2017 X-Trial Des Na­tions

Spain, rep­re­sented by the Rep­sol Honda team rid­ers Toni Bou and Jaime Busto, were the wor­thy win­ners of the 2017 FIM X-Trial des Na­tions held in Pau in France in April. Af­ter two laps of six sec­tions the for­mi­da­ble pair­ing ran out the easy win­ners to record Spain’s eleventh con­sec­u­tive suc­cess in this team com­pe­ti­tion. Rep­re­sent­ing Great Bri­tain, Gas Gas rid­ers James Da­bill and Jack Price sur­vived a dis­as­trous se­cond lap to claim the run­ner-up spot just a sin­gle mark ahead of France’s duo of Alexan­dre Fer­rer – Sherco, and Benoit Bin­caz – Scorpa. Five na­tions were rep­re­sented in the com­pe­ti­tion in Pau con­sist­ing of Spain, Great Bri­tain, France, Italy and Ger­many. Each team had two rid­ers, with one team mem­ber hav­ing to be un­der the age of twenty-five as the new el­i­gi­bil­ity rule was ap­plied for the se­cond year in a row to the com­pe­ti­tion.
