SUMMER

Trout Fisherman (UK) - - Advice -

The warmer months of summer generally see daytime fly life dwindle on lowland reservoirs. However, at altitude we can still expect modest hatches, particularly on cloudy days. Bear in mind too that surrounding bracken, or heather is home to scores of beetles that inadvertently find their way onto the water’s surface. Remember though, our native trout are edgy creatures and often feel exposed on brighter days when they usually hide away until the low light of dusk, or dawn.
