LANGLEY DAM FISHERY
LOCATED eight miles west of Hexham in the Northumbrian hills, Langley Dam continues to offer great value sport after 30 years, offering predominantly rainbow trout and a mix of brown, blue and tiger trout. Fish are generally stocked up to 6lb, although some bigger fish from 10lb to 18lb are added regularly. Five two-man boats are available for advance booking (anglers may bring their own electric motors) and there is ample room for both bank fishing and wading. The lodge offers a pleasant room in which to relax during the day’s fishing. Tea, coffee, cans of soft drinks and a small range of snacks are available. There is also ample car-parking and toilet facilities with disabled access. Gift vouchers are available, as are rods for hire and the fishery can recommend local instructors for anyone seeking formal tuition. The size of Langley makes it an ideal venue for club bookings or exclusive parties. The fishery can arrange catering locally or provide a BBQ. Langley Dam encourages fishing for all, with a regular juniors’ competition and days for disabled anglers. If you are worried about access to the lake please ring ahead and the fishery will do its best to ensure that it gets you fishing.
