Trout Fisherman (UK) - - Advice -

Spring is perceived by many as THE ‘season’ when it comes to fly-fishing. Undeniably, the months of April and May hold so much promise, principally due to an abundance of fly life and more settled weather. During this period, not only are buzzer hatches in full swing, we can expect lake, or pond olives too. That’s before terrestrials are even considered, which include hawthorn flies and their smaller cousins, black gnats.

Black gnats thrive in upland areas.
